Eucalyptus Oil

Have you ever seen a koala with a stuffed nose? Their main diet consists of eucalyptus leaves.

Joking aside, eucalyptus essential oil is one of the ingredients in many over the counter medicines. It has been used in many cultures as the primary stuffed nose home remedy. This is especially important when dealing with infants and small children.

How to Use Eucalyptus Oil for Stuffy Nose

  • A few drops around the collar of the child’s pyjama before going to sleep. The oil will gently vaporize with the body’s heat. It might stain the garment, but will produce relief, so use old clothes.
  • Stuff cotton balls down a vial with stopper. Drip a few drops of eucalyptus oil and close the vial. Whenever you feel your nose needs unblocking, open the vial and inhale the vapors. It is a homemade Vicks stick.

How to Use

  • Add 1 teaspoon to a cup pf boiling water. You can sweeten it with honey. Drink it twice a day.
  • Spice up your food with cayenne pepper. If you are using powder, put it last into the food or sprinkle on top.
  • Just sniff the pepper. It will most likely produce sneezing and might have a burning sensation if your nose is irritated from frequent blowing.

Ginger Root

  • A whole chicken cut into pieces
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 zucchini
  • 2 parsley roots or parsnips
  • 1 head of cabbage
  • Celery root cut into small pieces or 3 celery leaves
  • Onion, quartered
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • A pinch of cayenne pepper
  • Sea salt & you can add black pepper


  1. Cut the vegetables into thick medallions. You can also add a piece of ginger, or other green vegetables.
  2. Put everything in a pot, cover with water and boil for 2 hours.

  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced,
  • Juice from 1 lemon,
  • Honey to taste.
