DIET GOALS

First and the most essential thing is to set realistic and attainable goals of dieting and loosing weight. If you actually want to lose just a few centimeters in your waist without losing weight in other parts of your body, slimming diet is not a solution. To achieve this, you should stop reading this article and go to the closest fitness club or gym, where professional trainers will advise you the best fitness routine and will help you to choose the most suitable kind of physical activity.

A woman’s body, even if one tries very hard, does not lose weight in its "preferred" parts, but slims down in the selected, strategic areas. Each of us has those ‘slimable’ areas somewhere else, but there are few women who really want to lose weight exactly there. The most prone to slimming zones are upper parts of the body i.e. arms, bust, and in some cases - waist (that is why during a long-term diet ribs are becoming more visible). At the same time, hated fat remains on the buttocks, loins and tights, and resists longer. Your natural body build could be improved only thanks to regular and tenacious exercises, supported by various ‘women’s tricks’ such as balms, massages etc. – you know what I mean. Unfortunately, magic bracelets and wonders will not help.

And lastly, before you come to a conclusion that you really need a diet, ask your TRUSTED FRIENDS about their opinion. Our self-esteem is not always right and you might be on the right track to develop serious eating disorders.

LET’S ASSUME THAT….

…. in fact you are a few kilograms overweight. What’s next? First, determine how many kilos you want to lose. Five? Ten? Or maybe even twenty? It actually does not matter at the beginning of your diet. You will need one (!) week to lose a kilo. The quicker you will lose your weight, the more problems it will develop as a result, such as the risk of a yo-yo effect, problems with your complexion, a foul mood or a constant feeling of cold. It may lead to slowing down your metabolism and, consequently, slowing down or even stopping the whole slimming process altogether. Your body may even switch to the starvation mode, which means that it tries to save calories and power reserves-fat itself. Other problems may appear when you are on a drastic and rapid diet which leads to a huge loss of lean body mass, various kinds of avitaminosis, problems with concentration and lower skin firmness.

The healthy optimum is a loss of one kilo a week- as mentioned earlier. You should try and change your eating habits for a longer period of time or, preferably, for the whole life. A good diet should be a lesson of healthy nutrition principles which could be followed in the future. This is the only way to keep your body slim for a long time.
