What can be done about acne?
Nowadays acne can be effectively cured so that that there are no visible scars or malanosis on skin. There are many medicines that can be used depending on the character of changes and the degree of illness seriousness.
It is important, though, to obey three crucial rules:
- You cannot cure acne yourself, even if it is not serious. It may be treated only by an experienced doctor.
- You should consistently take medicines prescribed by the doctor even if you cannot see the improvement of health at the beginning.
- You must be patient. Acne is a persistent ailment and its treatment is long-lasting.
A well-known dermatologist, dr W. Cunliffe from Great Britain, described three phases in acne treatment. The improvement in therapy is:
- after one month – up to 15%
- after 2 months – up to 40%
- after 3 months – up to 65%
- after 4 months – up to 80%, etc.
As can be seen, acne treatment needs patience. But it is worth it! You should not be discouraged by remarks told by your family, friends or teachers. If you obey doctor’s recommendations, you can expect improvement.
